WHAT DOES 'DAY OF' STATIONERY MEAN?

Place cards are an easy way to assign your guests to tables. You should have this done at least a week in advance.
Table numbers are used to identify where your guests will be seating. They should be large enough so that they can be seen from across the room. They can be placed directly on the table, set up on a stand or even part of the centerpiece.
